CRICKET - Bourton and Frankton return to winning ways

BOURTON and Frankton CC returned to winning ways with a 90-run friendly success against Oakfield and Rowland at The Field.

Batting first, the home side made 292-5 from their allotted 40 overs, led by Daniel McManus who retired unbeaten on 118.

Fellow opener George Smith made 50 whilst Mark Whitehead made 44 and Michael Cook 40.

Hector Legge and Jacob Crinigan took 2-47 and 2-62 respectively for the visitors.

Oakfield’s reply was equally fronted by their opening pair with Chris Goodwin (80) and Ed Thomas (43) however, their chase faltered when both were dismissed.

Liam Denipitiya added 27 but Oakfield closed on 205-5, well short of the required target, as Mick Waller (2-21), Nigel Kidd (1-45), Cook (1-25) and Jake Quinney (1-22) shared the wickets.
