BOURTON and Frankton CC emerged victorious in a high-scoring encounter against Napton to win by 44 runs in a friendly.
Bourton recovered from the early loss of Rich Parsons as Dale Coles and George Smith put on a record second wicket partnership of 194.
And Coles fell six runs short of a century on 94 as Smith made 83 before Matt McQuillan scored an unbeaten 53 to boost Bourton’s total to 297-4.
Napton attacked from the outset in reply as Tom Hancock dominated with the bat before he eventually fell for 140 to Parsons.
And Bourton’s Nigel Kidd (3-37) ripped through Napton’s middle order before Mike Eadon steading the ship with 57 not out.
However, Napton never came close to reaching Bourton’s total as they finished on 253-5 from their 40 overs, some 44 runs short.
Bourton are next in action against Bishops Tachbrook on Sunday, May 22 with the toss at 1pm at Ashorne Cricket Ground.
