WARWICKSHIRE CCC settled for a rain-affected draw against Nottinghamshire with little play possible on both the first and final day.

The Bears endured a disastrous first innings with the home side bowled out for just 93 at Edgbaston.

Nottinghamshire impressed with the ball to stun the hosts as both Fergus O’Neill (5-19) and Brett Hutton (5-38) claimed five-wicket hauls.

The visitors managed 367 all out in reply as opener Haseeb Hameed (138 not out) produced a captain’s innings.

O’Neill (50) chipped in with an impressive half-century from just 53 balls as Michael Booth (5-90) starred with the ball for the Bears.

Warwickshire ended day three on 163-6 in their second innings, still trailing by 111 runs, with four wickets in hand heading into the final day of play.

Steady batting from Ed Barnard (40 not out) and Oliver Hannon-Dalby (7 not out) ensured the Bears battled to a rain-affected draw with only 36 overs possible on the final day.
