Father and daughter pairing land pairs title

BOWLS: FATHER and daughter pairing Andy and Hannah Smith landed the 2017 Mixed Pairs final at Wolvey BC.

After one of the semi finals was delayed due to Kirsty Richards being on international duty – added to various players being unavailable due to involvements in the National finals at Leamington – the final took place between the Smith’s and Kirsty Richards & Jim Freeman (Kings Heath).

After nine ends the sides were all square on eight all, the Smiths won four of the next six ends to open up a five shot lead.

With three ends to go the gap was six shots, Richards & Freeman cut it down to four with one end left but they dropped a single to give father and daughter Andy and Hannah Smith the 2017 title.
