BOURTON and Frankton were unable to produce an upset as they were beaten 4-1 away at Fillongley in the first round of the Telegraph Junior Cup.
Bourton started brightly but were unable to convert their early chances before a stunning solo goal handed the home side the lead.
And Fillongley were quick to extend their lead with a pair of quickfire goals to take the game away from Bourton as the home side’s midfield began to boss proceedings.
However, Bourton were handed a lifeline just before half time when Daniel McManus scored from the penalty spot after Jordan Jackson was brought down in the area.
Despite a spirited second half showing, Bourton were unable to reduce the deficit further as Fillongley, who play two division above, wrapped up the win with a penalty.
