BOURTON and Frankton resumed their league campaign with an impressive 3-0 win against Kenilworth Wardens Reserves following a nine-week break.

Chevez Walder scored twice for Bourton after Abdul Jabedeed had opened the scoring at The Field in the club’s first game since the turn of the year.

The result means Bourton sit fifth in the Coventry Alliance League Division Three table having won their last four league matches.

Bourton last took to the pitch on December 3 last year as the club saw four consecutive matches postponed for waterlogged and frozen pitches over the Christmas and New Year period.

And Bourton made the breakthrough close to the half-hour mark when Jabedeed finished from less than six-yards out after a free-kick was headed back across goal by Walder at the back post.

The home side weathered an early storm to double their lead just before the hour mark when Walder converted from Stuart McQuillan’s corner.

And Bourton sealed the points with their third goal as Walder broke free from the Kenilworth defence to slot home past the advancing goalkeeper.

Bourton are next in action away at RS Sports Reserves on Saturday, February 11 with kick-off at 2.15pm at Moat House Leisure and Neighbourhood Centre.
