BOURTON and Frankton suffered a heavy 7-2 defeat at home to current league leaders Sporting Club Coventry.

Bourton slipped to a third successive defeat in all competitions as Daniel McManus and Kyle Young scored in vain for the home side at The Field.

The result means Bourton sit sixth in the Coventry Alliance Division Three table with three wins and three defeats from their six matches.

Bourton trailed by one goal at the break after McManus spotted the visiting goalkeeper off his line to score a superb effort from distance.

However, Coventry ran riot in the second half as Young netted a consolation for Bourton on an afternoon to forget.

Bourton are next in action away at Triumph Athletic on Saturday, November 4 in the cup with kick-off at 2.15pm at Triumph Sport Ground.
