BOURTON and Frankton were thrashed 7-1 by Craven Athletic in the second round of the Coventry Benevolent Cup.
Bourton’s recent good run of form came to an abrupt halt as Craven raced into an early lead despite the visitors matching their opponents in possession and were unable to convert a number of chances.
However, Craven were clinical in front of goal and led five-nil at the interval before Bourton grabbed a consolation through Chevez Walder only for the home side to strike twice more before the final whistle.
And Bourton’s under-14’s side were beaten 4-2 by Coventrians in the Coventry and Warwickshire Youth League as their undefeated streak came to an end against the league leaders.
Bourton were unable to capitalise on their early lead as a defensive error saw the home side concede a free-kick from which Coventrians equalised before the visitors completed the turnaround just before the break.
The visitors extended their lead in the second period before Bourton scored a late consolation goal.
