HILLMORTON RESERVES secured a shock point against CRC Veterans in the Rugby District Cup after playing out 1-1 draw.
Dominic Gallacher’s second-half goal ensured Hillmorton earned a share of the spoils after CRC led at the break.
CRC held a 100 per cent record heading into the clash, in both league and cup, only for Second Division Hillmorton to claim a remarkable point.
Hillmorton took their game plan to CRC and were always in the game with chances misses at both ends of the pitch.
However, CRC took the lead just before half-time with a fortuitous goal from distance.
The tide turned after the break as a young Hillmorton side dominated the midfield thanks to Rhodri Evans, Mackenzie Hancock and Lawrence Watson’s battling displays.
The visitors missed numerous chances before Gallacher eventually levelled from close range.
And Hillmorton almost nicked a famous win when Charlie Gilroy went close and Dan King hit the post as the visitors pushed for a winner in what was a terrific game.
Hillmorton Reserves would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
