RUGBY Borough have appointed Stu Bishop as the club’s football and education lead for the 2026/27 season.

Bishop has spent the past 13 years with Borough and will work alongside current interim Leamington boss Chris Knott.

Knott will support the programme with a focus on post 16 to 19-years-old recruitment.

Bishop’s remit is to create and oversee a side which will compete in the Midland Floodlit League.

He will also manage the midweek Future Lions fixtures and will lead the recruitment and setup of a development team to run alongside the first team.

The development team will play in the Leicestershire Senior League.

Bishop said: “I’m absolutely delighted to take on this role.

“Rugby Borough has been my home for 13 years, and I’m proud to help shape the future of our football and education pathway.

“The interest we’ve already had is fantastic, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Knott added: “It’s great to be working with Stu on this project.

“The vision for the 16 to 19 programme and the development pathway is very exciting, and I’m looking forward to helping bring in the right players to make it a success.”
