RUGBY Borough scored two late goals to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw away at Northampton ON Chenecks.
Borough trailed by two goals with six minutes left to play only for Oran Jackson and substitute Rio Henson to strike and earn the visitors a point at Old Northamptonians Sports Ground.
The result means Rugby sit third in the United Counties League Premier Division South table.
Chenecks broke the deadlock on 14 minutes when Lewis Irwin’s volley bounced into the ground and over Borough goalkeeper John Meadows.
And the home side doubled their lead on 36 minutes as Irwin picked out the bottom corner from Romeo Ingman’s pass.
However, Rugby kept themselves in the contest in bizarre fashion six minutes from time when a shot hit the bar and ricocheted off Chenecks goalkeeper Beriszl Asante and into the net.
And Borough equalised just three minutes later to inch closer to securing an end-of-season play-off spot.
Rugby are next in action against Eynesbury Rovers on Wednesday, April 2 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Kilsby Lane.
