ANTONIO Cristofaro scored a brace as Rugby Borough thrashed Gresley Rovers 4-1 to advance in the FA Vase.
Cristofaro started and completed the scoring at Kilsby Lane with Shaun Ruzvidzo and Cyrus Bruce also on target for Borough.
The victory means Rugby will travel to Midland Football League Division One side Paget Rangers in Second Round Qualifying on Saturday, September 21 with kick-off at 3pm at Castle Vale.
Borough broke the deadlock after just three minutes when Cristofaro fired home followinga superb backheel pass inside the box.
And the home side doubled their lead on 26 minutes as Ruzvidzo curled a shot into the net from the edge of the penalty area and celebrated in acrobatic fashion.
Rugby all but sealed their place in the next round when Bruce pounced moments later to score Borough’s third goal.
Gresley pulled a goal back through Tristan Burke on the stroke of half time only for Cristofaro to shortly after the break.
Rugby are next in action away at GNG Oadby Town on Wednesday, August 28 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Braunstone Lane.
