MICHELLE OLDFIELD scored the only goal as Rugby Borough Women ended their season with an impressive 1-0 away win at Westfields Women.
Oldfield struck in the second half to seal the points for Rugby and ensure they can finish no lower than sixth in the West Midlands Regional Women’s Football League Division One South.
And Bailey Wiggett captained the side at AllPay Park with Rugby creating the better chance to no avail in a scoreless first half.
Rugby improved in the second half and were rewarded when Oldfield grabbed the winning goal after she was played in by Megan Board.
Despite Westields piling on the pressure in their search for an equaliser, Rugby kept them at bay before Chloe Skipworth hit the post late on in the second half.
Rugby are now looking forward to next season having impressed in their first campaign at a higher level.
