RUGBY Borough Women have launched a female talent pathway in a bid to strengthen the club’s long-term player development structure.

Rugby hope the programme will create a clear pathway for young players to progress from grassroots football into the senior game.

Developed in partnership with Rugby Borough Women and Girls FC, the pathway aims to bridge the gap between grassroots and elite football.

The programme will initially feature under-12 and under-16 teams who will compete in the JPL Warriors League.

Players will train twice a week with sessions designed to reflect first-team principles and expectations.

Each player will also receive an individual development plan (IDP), allowing coaches to track progress, identify areas for improvement and support long-term growth.

The programme will also provide players with access to a range of support services including physiotherapy and injury management, as well as goalkeeper-specific coaching to ensure position-focused progression across all areas of the pitch.

Senior players will also contribute to sessions, offering valuable insight and experience to the next generation.

Players, including Eva Buckley and Tate Bullen, have already progressed into senior football environments after developing through the pathway.

Borough hope to introduce additional age groups to the programme in future seasons.
