FOOTBALL - Rugby Borough Women to play in National League Southern Premier next season

RUGBY Borough Women will play in the National League Southern Premier Division next season at step three of the women’s football pyramid.

The FA revealed the league allocations for next season after it was announced earlier this week that Coventry United Women had relocated and rebranded as Rugby Borough.

Coventry were relegated from the Championship last season and have now moved to Borough’s Kilsby Lane home as the club attempts to return to the second tier at the first attempt.

And Borough can look forward to matches against the likes of newly-promoted Hashtag United and Cardiff City in the 12-team league.

The rest of the Southern Premier Division is made up of Billericay Town, Cheltenham Town, Chatham Town, Ipswich Town, London Bees, Milton Keynes Dons, Oxford United, Plymouth Argyle and Portsmouth.

Only the league champions will earn promotion to the second tier with two teams to be relegated from the Championship.
