RUGBY Town hosted their annual end-of-season awards event following a difficult campaign for the club on the pitch.

The event took place before Valley’s final game of the Northern Premier League Midlands season with the club’s relegation already confirmed.

Players, coaching staff, officials and supporters gathered to reflect on the various contributions made both on and off the field across the campaign.

Club director Mike Yeats hosted the ceremony and confirmed goalkeeper Paul Hathaway as the supporters’ player of the year.

He finished just ahead of Josh Thomas with Dan Summerfield in third place.

Hathaway has since confirmed his retirement from playing and has been appointed manager at Bolehall Swifts.

He also claimed the most appearances trophy to mark his ever-present record in the 2024/25 campaign.

Departing Valley boss Ian King chose Thomas as his player of the year with Trey Charles taking the media star man honour.

Charles topped the individual man of the match nominations throughout the season in the club’s match reports.

He also won the club’s golden boot award with 20 goals in all competitions including 16 in the league.

The club honoured Tom Binding with a commitment award to recognise his efforts across a number of areas over the years.

Binding currently operates as Rugby’s goalkeeping coach while club photographer Martin Pulley won the clubman of the year gong.

Valley fan Liam Waleczek won the supporter of the year award for his continued enthusiasm and impressive attendance record on the terraces.

And the club also acknowledged Steve Troup’s dedication in travelling long distances to watch Town matches with the presentation of a bottle from Pete Kilvert.

Lastly, long-serving defender Liam Francis also received a bottle from club president Kilvert after completing a seventh successive season at Butlin Road.
