RUGBY Town remain bottom of the table despite ending their seven-game winless run with a 3-1 victory against Shepshed Dynamo.

Valley claimed a much-needed win courtesy of first-half goals from Ryan Sahota, David Kolodynski and Loyiso Recci at Butlin Road.

Despite the win, Valley remain bottom of the Northern Premier League Midlands table, one point from safety with three games left to play.

And Rugby made the perfect start when Sahota volleyed home inside the first minute after Shepshed failed to deal with Theo Rowe’s cross.

The home side doubled their lead on 19 minutes as Kolodynski helped in Chris Clements’ corner moments after Dynamo goalkeeper Brandon Ganley denied Mikey Taylor from close range.

And Valley made it three in first-half injury time when Recci scored from the penalty spot after Ganley brought down Taylor in the box.

Shepshed scored a consolation goal with six minutes left to play as Callum Burkley headed in Shaquille Master’s corner.

Rugby are next in action at home to Bedworth United on Saturday, April 13 with kick-off at 3pm at Butlin Road.
