RUGBY Town suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat away at bottom club and previously winless Hinckley LRFC.
Trey Charles scored a consolation goal for Valley from the penalty spot after Ben Humphreys netted a brace with Dom Brennan, Aaron Nuttall and Adam Read all on target for the home side at Leicester Road Stadium.
And the result means Rugby sit 20th in the Northern Premier League Midlands table, one point from safety.
Despite the final scoreline, Valley made a bright start as Charles and Caine Elliott both spurned half-chances early on.
However, Brennan struck the frame of the goal with a shot from distance before Humphreys rose above Josh Thomas to head in Brennan’s corner from the right on 32 minutes to break the deadlock.
And Hinckley doubled their lead after the break on 55 minutes as Brennan coolly found the net from Nuttall’s pass.
Nuttall then grabbed a goal for himself when he finished into an empty net seven minutes later after Paul Hathaway saved Read’s initial effort.
And Read sealed the points for the home side on 68 minutes with a composed finish from Humphreys’ pass.
Hathaway made a number of saves to prevent Hinckley from extending their lead before Humphreys made it five on 76 minutes when he headed in another Brennan corner.
Valley scored a consolation goal one minute from time as Charles powered a penalty into the top corner after Joseph Lye handled the ball in the box.
Rugby are next in action against AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Tuesday, October 22 with kick-off at 7.45pm at Butlin Road.
