RYAN Seal scored twice against his former club as Rugby Town eased to a 5-1 pre-season victory at Gresley Rovers – scoring all of their goals in the second half.
Seal netted either side of Caine Elliott’s strike after MJ Semahimbo and David Kolodynski both found the net earlier in the half.
Town boss Carl Adams named a different team in each half with trialist left-back Hayden Seymour handed a first start.
There was also an appearance from the bench in the second half for trialist winger Kaylum Mitchell – formerly of Carlton, Eastwood and Gresley.
The game was scoreless at the break before Semahimbo broke the deadlock shortly after the restart with a deflected shot that wrong-footed the Gresley goalkeeper.
And despite the home side drawing level through Kieran Wells, Kolodynski quickly restored Rugby’s lead after smashing home a rebound from 12-yards out after Semahimbo’s shot was parried.
Seal gave Rugby a two-goal cushion when he played a one-two with Kolodynski at a free-kick before slotting home.
And Kolodynski was the provider again moments later when he teed up Elliott who found the net with a smart finish.
Former Gresley man Seal completed the scoring with a superb second goal as he curled a short into the goal from outside the penalty area to leave the goalkeeper with no chance.
