GRASSTRACK - Cossar family on the podium in Shropshire

THE Cossar family, from Rugby, stole the show at the latest grasstrack meeting of the season hosted by Bewdley Motorcycle Club.

All four Cossar family members in action ended up on the podium whilst two secured outright race victories.

The event took place in Alveley, Shropshire as four-year-old Albie Cossar won the Youth E-Bike competition whilst his brother Toby, aged seven, finished third in a competitive Youth Auto race.

And reigning British Masters champion Mark Cossar, partnered by Rugby’s Gaz Williams, placed third in the 1,000cc sidecar competition.

Mechanical gremlins have severely impacted the seven-time champion’s 2023 season and Mark suffered more bad luck in Shropshire by way of excessive spinning.

This meant he lost ground to his younger brother Tom Cossar who, alongside Wayne Rickards, won the race and the trophy in style.

Tom further highlighted his potential to capture more titles this year as a main driver having won the British Masters back in 2009 as a 17-year-old passenger to big brother Mark.
