Iris proves an accurate shot

CROSSBOW: TWO national titles came the Rugby at the weekend as Graeme Mooney and Iris Bingham starred at the National Crossbow Federation’s 10m National Shoot.

The pair travelled to Streetly at the weekend with the aim of bagging gold in their respective categories.

While Iris scooped gold in the RSDA Assisted Sporting class, with a remarkable score of 763 out of 800, Graeme Mooney won the same category for men – scoring 740.

Graeme’s achievement was made more satisfying as his scope was not fit for use for the last shot.

Rugby’s Kevin Rumble also featured, he picked up gold with a score of 723.

Competitors are set the task of landing their bolt inside the 2½cm ten circle. Should the bolt be touching the line, they will score the lower figure.
