RUGBY and East Warwickshire Ladies 1sts recorded a first win of the season in the Midlands Women’s Premier Division.
After opening the campaign with two draws, Rugby recorded a 2-1 win against Lichfield.
Evie Phillips calmly converted a one-v-one chance and Nicki Siarbawa netted a reverse stick chance to secure the win.
Rugby 2nds were 4-1 winners against Coventry and North Warwick 1sts, with Jodie Kelsall, Regan Walker and Evie Headland on target in Midlands Division Three South East, while the Fourths completed a Ladies hat-trick by sweeping aside Oundle 2nds 6-1.
Adam Hewitt scored twice as the Men’s Firsts secured a 3-0 victory against West Bridgford 1sts in Midlands Men’s Premier Division.
Andy Walker rounded a man-of-the-match show with a goal in a hard-fought game.
A missed penalty flick summed up Rugby Seconds’ woes at Stone as they lost 2-1 in Midlands Division Two despite numerous chances but Rugby Thirds produced their best performance of the season to overwhelm Warwick 2nds 5-1. Man of the match Gaz Unett scored twice, with a goal each for Johnny Naylor, Jamie Carr and Alex Salter.
The Fourths and Fifths both suffered defeats, 2-0 to Hampton 3rds and 3-0 to Atherstone 2nds respectively, but the Sixths edged out Khalsa Leamington 3-2.
