A STOPPAGE-time winner by Alex Gudger ensured nine-man Rugby Town returned to winning ways at basement boys Beaconsfield SYCOB at Holloways Park on Saturday afternoon.
An incident-packed game saw the visitors take a lead at the interval thanks to Tom Grant who deflected Seb Lake-Gaskin’s cross into his own net.
However the hosts pulled level after the re-start when Alex Murray stroked home from the spot after Ben George had been penalised for an apparent off-the-ball elbow which earned the full back a red card.
In-form striker David Kolodynski then missed a penalty at the other end after his shirt was tugged in the box, before Town twice struck the bar with both Kolodynski and Alex Gudger denied.
Any hope of a Town winner seemed to disappear when Sam Youngs was also dismissed for two quick-fire bookings but there was to be late drama when Kolodynski had a shot blocked and Gudger was on-hand to fire home the winner.
