Mark Cossar eyes third consecutive win as British Championship series moves to King's Lynn

SIDECAR SPEEDWAY: RUGBY-based Mark Cossar will be hoping to extend his lead at the top of the 1,000cc British Sidecar Speedway Championship table this weekend in Norfolk.

Having won the opening two rounds at Leicester and Somerset, Cossar and his passenger Carl Blyth have made it clear they are the duo to beat.

And this Friday, July 14, the pair will be aiming for further glory at the Adrian Flux Arena in King’s Lynn for the penultimate round of the series.

However, there is no shortage of fast crews keen to peg back their lead, including Cossar’s younger brother Tom and Gareth Williams – also from Rugby – who is passenger to Birmingham’s Matt Fumarola.

Mark said: “The pressure is well and truly on us, but I raced at King’s Lynn awhile back against the top outfits from Australia – and like the track very much.”

If the rounds at Leicester and Somerset were anything to go by, race fans won’t go home disappointed.

Cossar has already fought out titanic battles with Nottingham’s Paul Whitlelam and the stiff competition of Tris Winterburn.

Action at the Adrian Flux Arena starts at 7pm on Friday.

The final round of the series takes place at Belle Vue in Manchester on Saturday, October 14.
