RUGBY & Northampton AC’s Alistair McDonnell won the Rugby Half Marathon on Sunday.
The race was entered by 660 athletes from across the UK, with 26 representing R&N.
McDonnell claimed first place in a blistering time of one hour, 16 minutes and ten seconds, while team-mate Stephen Marks finished 15 seconds further back (1:16:25) to complete a brilliant one-two for the team.
Daniel Williams also put in a strong performance, coming home in eighth place in a time of 1:23:10 to ensure there were three R&N athletes in the top ten.
Sally Baker turned in another fantastic performance and finished as the third-fastest female, running an impressive 1:29:18 and finishing 33rd overall.
Just ahead of her was R&N’s Richard Thomas who finished the race in a very respectable 1:28:51.
