RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club Ladies’ teams enjoyed a flawless week whilst the men’s teams mixed results.

The Ladies’ first team won 2-0 against Boots with the second team ousting Northampton Saints 3-0 and the third team romping to an emphatic 12-0 win against Towcester.

And the Men’s first team were also successful with a 6-1 hammering of Bourneville whilst the second team also hit six in a 6-3 thriller against Sikh Union Nottingham.

However, the men’s third team lost 4-0 against Northampton Saints before the fourth team were beaten 2-0 against Atherstone.




The fifth team edged out Leicester 1-0 with the sixth team beaten 3-0 by Atherstone and the seventh team going down 4-1 against Market Harborough.

 


RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 2-0 Boots

Goals to Nicki Siarbawa and player of the match Indie Green saw Rugby dominate the game with goalkeeper Le Sarge only mustering one touch of the ball to maintain the clean sheet over Boots.

 

REWHC Ladies 2nd 3-0 Northampton Saints 2nd

Goals to Emma Sleeman, Grace Calder and Dominique Smith saw Rugby commit for every loose ball in a convincing performance over Northampton.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 12-0 Towcester 4th

A bucket of goals for Rugby saw Nadine, Annabel and Jemima each score hat-tricks whilst player of the match Ruby potted two and Kat finished off the tally for twelve total goals.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 6-1 – Bourneville

Three players scored two goals as Rugby comfortably beat Bourneville away. Goals came to Adam Hewitt, Tom Robson and Luke Armstrong thanks to some strong build up play throughout.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 6-3 Sikh Union Nottingham

A slew of goals to Rugby as Liam Brown (2), Charlie Darbyshire, Charlie Morrison, Will Antrobus and man of the match James Cummins saw Rugby put in a great shift, working much harder than Nottingham throughout and thoroughly deserving the win.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 0-4 Northampton Saints 2nd

Calum Mackay earned man of the match in a losing effort that was much closer than the scoreline suggests despite the game getting away from Rugby in the second half.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 0-2 Atherstone 2nd

Rugby dominated possession for most of the game but couldn’t solve the Atherstone defense despite the efforts of Jamie Carr and Roman Lofthouse up front.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 1-0 Leicester

The lone goal of the game fell on Rugby’s side as Fez finished off the chance in a game that saw Rugby dominated in terms of chances on goal. Fin Newton earned himself man of the match for creating numerous of those chances.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 0-3 Atherstone 3rd

A hard fought game for Rugby saw them fall to Atherstone as George earned man of the match for his work rate throughout.

 

REWHC Men’s 7th 1-4 Market Harborough

Despite some good attacking movements Rugby only found the goal once through Guy Smith as they lost to Market Harborough.
