RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club endured a mixed week on the pitch.

The Ladies first team beat Sutton 3-2 with the third team held 1-1 by Northampton Saints and the fourth team beating Long Buckby 2-1.

And the Men’s first team were also successful as they thrashed Warwick University 5-0 whilst the second team were hammered 4-0 by Khalsa Leamington.

Elsewhere, the third team drew 3-3 with Sikh Union, the fourth team beat Wellingborough 2-1 and the fifth team were dismantled 8-1 by the former.




Lastly, the sixth team lost 6-3 in a thriller against Warwick whilst the under-16 boys beat Repton 5-3 and the under-14 boys won 3-1 against North Staffordshire.

 


RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 3-2 Sutton 2nd

A hattrick to player of the match Evie Phillips saw Rugby ahead of Sutton in a tightly contested game at Hart field.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 1-1 Northampton Saints 3rd

The lone goal to Rugby came from a hard shot from Jemima in the first half as they drew to Northampton in a hard game as Jess earned player of the match.

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 2-1 Long Buckby 2nd

REWHC Men’s 1st 5-0 Warwick University

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 0-4 Khalsa Leamington 2nd

Will Antrobus earned man of the match as a slow first half saw Rugby concede early on and have to fight to get back into the game.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 3-3 Sikh Union 1st

A great performance from Rugby saw them earn a draw against Sikh Union with three pretty goals, man of the match Madoc Williams hit a rocket into the top corner, Gareth Unett potted a behind the back deflection and Charlie Hall finished off a nice team goal.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 2-1 Wellingborough 1st

Goals to David Odwell and man of the match Giles Morrison saw Rugby narrowly stay ahead of a strong Wellingborough side.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 1-8 Sikh Union 2nd

A difficult game against top of the league Sikh Union saw Rhys score a deflection for Rugby and Chris Gibson earn man of the match for his efforts in goal.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 3-6 Warwick 4th

A difficult game for Rugby saw them draw level in the first half thanks to two goals from Chris and another from Richard Hardy but were unable to maintain their scoring touch into the second half. Nick Taylor earned man of the match.
