RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club’s Ladies first team won their first ever game in the National League with an impressive victory at Loughborough Students.

The club enjoyed a perfect week across their Ladies teams who all won their respective matches however, the Men’s first and third teams were well beaten with the other teams all tasting victory.

REWHC Ladies 1st 2-0 Loughborough Students




Rugby’s first ever National League game was one to remember with a huge away win at Loughborough. After a goalless first half, Evie Phillips opened the scoring with a drag-flick finish before Nicki Siarbawa sealed the game in the third quarter with Rugby’s second goal.

 


REWHC Ladies 2nd 5-0 Nottingham Trent University

Lilla Gane scored a hat-trick of goals whilst Ffion Purviss and Regan Walker picked up goals as well to see Rugby ahead of Nottingham Trent. Lauren earned herself player of the match for multiple assists.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 2-0 Wellingborough

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 8-0 Northampton Saints 5th

Plenty of goals for Rugby as Melis Baysal, Annie and Elena each found themselves with two goals whilst Ellie and Millie earned a goal each. Anne-Marie earned player of the match on her debut for some great passing.

 

REWHC Ladies Academy 2-1 Northampton Saints 4th

Goals to Lauren and Delilah Teeton saw Rugby win their first ever game as a development team. Louise won the inaugural player of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 2-6 Khalsa Leamington 1st

Goals to Tom Carter and Luke Armstrong were not enough to see Rugby ahead of rivals Khalsa as they fell to a Khalsa side with three international players.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 1-9 Beeston 4th

A difficult opening fixture for Rugby saw Roman Lofthouse score in a tightly contested first half before the game got away in the second half. Man of the match went to Henry Woodward for a great two-way performance on the right wing.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 3-1 Khalsa Leamington 4th

A comeback win for Rugby thanks to goals from man of the match Ed Batho, Fin Calder and Chris Harrison as Rugby made the most of their opportunities.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 13-1 Leicester 4th

A goalfest for Rugby, with Will Braggs earning 6 tallies, Nick Dowling scoring 4 and Felix, Matt T and Will Pinder finishing off the scoresheet. Man of the match went to Marco Rodriguez.

 

REWHC Men’s 7th 1-0 Sikh Union

A last minute goal to man of the match Fezz saw Rugby narrowly beat Sikh Union Coventry in s very close game.
