RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club’s men’s teams enjoyed a near perfect week with six wins and a draw from seven matches across their squads.

The ladies’ first and second teams suffered defeats although their third and academy sides were able to taste victory.



REWHC Ladies 1st 0-5 Olton

A difficult loss for Rugby as Rebecca Howitt earned player of the match for her efforts in goal.


REWHC Ladies 2nd 0-3 Loughborough Uni

Jenni Schanschieff earned player of the match honours for Rugby as their winning streak came to an end at Loughborough.


REWHC Ladies 3rd 2-1 Northampton Saints

Goals to player of the match Nadine Bell and Melis Baysal saw Rugby come out on top against Northampton.


REWHC Ladies Academy 2-0 Old Grammarians

Heidi earned player of the match for her efforts in goal whilst goals to Harriett and Bella secured the win.


REWHC Men’s 1st 2-1 Barton 1st

A very tight game saw markers from Luke Armstrong and Adam Hewitt give Rugby the edge as Connor Robson was stalwart in goal to earn man of the match.


REWHC Men’s 2nd 3-0 Sikh Union (Notts)

A big win for Rugby saw goals from John Naylor, Charlie Morrison and Ed Thomas as Charlie Crinnigan’s work in midfield warranted man of the match honours.


REWHC Men’s 3rd 4-3 Northampton Saints 2nd

A Mat Nobes hat trick and a diving finish from Roman Lofthouse was just enough to see Rugby earn their first win of the season as Ben Merritt’s defensive efforts saw him take man of the match.


REWHC Men’s 4th 1-0 Warwick University 3rd

Richard Cook scored the games only goal as Sam Morgan’s defensive effort earned him man of the match.


REWHC Men’s 5th 1-1 Coalville

Aidan SG scored the equaliser for Rugby whilst  Billy earned man of the match.


REWHC Men’s 6th 10-1 Market Harborough 4th

A goalfest for Rugby as Matt Thomas scored 4, Will B finished the hattrick, Hamilton netted a pair and Nick Dowling scored the final tally. Man of the match went to Archie.


REWHC Men’s 7th 4-0 Atherstone 4th

Two tallies to Fezz saw him take man of the match whilst Zach and Tom finished off the scoreline.
