RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club suffered just two defeats across their men’s and women’s teams last week.

The ladies’ won all bar one of their five matches whilst the men’s teams were edged out in two of their six games, drawing one and winning the other three.

 

RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 4-2 Beeston




A flying start to Rugby saw three goals in the first quarter thanks to Nicki Siarbawa, Stacey Keeley and Isabel Powell with the fourth goal coming towards the end of the game to seal the deal thanks to Sarah Naylor.

 


REWHC Ladies 2nd 15-0 – Leicester City 4th

A slew of goals to Rugby as Ffion Purviss scored four, Lilla Gane netted herself a hat-trick, Jess Evans and Lara Naylor found the net twice each whilst Laura, Lauren, Grace Calder and Mary Shantikumar finished with a goal apiece.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 2-0 Earls Barton

Goals to Kat and Victoria saw Rugby clear in a tight game against Earls Barton. Player of the match went to Liv for a high work rate throughout.

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 1-1 Northampton Saints 4th

A battle of the goalkeepers saw Daisy earn player of the match in goal as Rugby came away with a draw with the lone goal coming to Ellie.

 

REWHC Ladies Academy 5-2 Long Buckby

Player of the match Eve scored two goals whilst Bella, Lauren and Delilah scored one goal apiece in a physical game against Long Buckby.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 5-5 Telford 1st

A tight game saw Rugby come away with disappointed with only a point as man of the match Adam Hewitt scored a hattrick whilst Tom Carter netted the final two goals for Rugby.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 3-4 Nottingham University 4th

A tight game against a fast student side saw two goals to Harry Clarke and another to Will Antrobus as Rugby narrowly missed out on a result.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 4-6 Mansfield 1st

Mathew Nobes scored three goals with a fourth for Charlie Morrison as Rugby mounted a second half comeback after a poor first half. Henry Woodward was a clear favourite for man of the match after some great defensive play including numerous goal line saves.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 3-2 Coventry & NW

A back and forth game saw goals to David Odwell, man of the match Richard Spraget and Richard Cook as Rugby narrowly came out on top.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 2-0 Long Buckby 1st

A scoreless first half was broken as Aiden SG and Chris Harrison put Rugby ahead as Luke M earned man of the match for his midfield performance.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 3-1 Khalsa 5th

A convincing performance for Rugby saw Matt Thomas earn man of the match for strong playmaking leading to goals from Nick Dowling, Felix and Ham.
