RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club enjoyed a fine week across a number of their teams.

Despite a narrow defeat for the Ladies first team, the second and third teams claimed victory.

There was also success for Rugby’s first, second and third teams.


REWHC Ladies 1st 2-3 University of Birmingham 2nd

A very close game for Rugby saw Birmingham overcome an early defecit as Nicki Siarbawa scored twice in the first quarter to put Rugby ahead. Stacey Keeley’s defensive efforts saw her earn player of the match.


REWHC Ladies 2nd 1-0 Warwick University 1st

Regan Walker scored the games lone goal in what was a very back and forth game. Alice Whittaker earned player of the match for her two way play throughout.


REWHC Ladies 3rd 4-1 Daventry 1st

A dominant first half for Rugby saw Ruby Clarke score twice whilst Laura and Georgia also found the net. Sammie earned player of the match.


REWHC Ladies 4th 1-3 Long Buckby 2nd

A goal for Clare Deery was Rugby’s lone marker whilst Esther Pritt’s hard work in defense saw her earn player of the match.


REWHC Ladies Academy 4-3 Northampton Saints 5th

Two goals to Bella as well as goals to player of the match Laura and Harriet saw Rugby ride an early lead to the finish line to secure the win over Northampton.


REWHC Men’s 1st 4-0 Hampton 1st

Rugby maintained a consistent pace to comfortably beat Hampton thanks to goals from Debutant Harry Clarke, Adam Hewitt (2) and Chris Graham.


REWHC Men’s 2nd 6-0 Ashby 1st

A great performance for Rugby saw five different goalscorers as the scoresheet featured Phil Dickinson (2), Charlie Crinnigan, Tom Hollis, Charlie Darbyshire and Charlie Hall.


REWHC Men’s 3rd 4-1 Ashby 2nd

One of the best performances of the year for Rugby saw them triumph over Ashby by as Mathew Nobes scored twice, whilst goals also came to Charlie Morrison and Fin Newton.


REWHC Men’s 4th 1-2 Melton 2nd

David Odwell scored Rugby’s lone goal from a penalty corner in a losing effort to Melton as goalkeeper Josh Gibson earned man of the match to keep Rugby in the game.


REWHC Men’s 5th 0-6 Towcester 1st

A difficult game for Rugby saw Ed Batho earn man of the match.


REWHC Men’s 6th 8-0 Sikh Union 3rd

A Hat-trick for Ham, a pair for Nick Dowling as well as goals to man of the match Luke, Felix and James Harrison saw Rugby come out on top in a dominant performance over Sikh Union.


REWHC Men’s 7th 3-3 Tamworth 2nd

Rugby came back from a two goal defecit in the second half as goals from David Assheton, Guy Smith and Craig Hughes sealed the comeback. Charlie Bointon’s debut in goal saw him earn man of the match.
