RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club Ladies enjoyed an excellent weekend whilst the Men’s sides were in mixed form.

 

The Ladies first team beat Harbone 3-1 whilst the second team eased past Daventry 5-0.

 




However, the Men’s first were held to a 2-2 draw with Stratford and the second team were beaten 5-1 by Old Halesonians.

 


A depleted Men’s third team suffered a 15-1 defeat to league leaders Atherstone first with the fourth team claiming a 2-0 win against the fifth team.

 

Lastly, the Girls under-16’s won 5-2 against Old Silhillians to retain top spot in the league.

 

RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 3-1 Harborne

Three goals for Nicki Siarbawa, including a goal of the season candidate saw her take player of the match honours as Rugby maintained possession of the ball for great periods of the second half.

 

REWHC Ladies 2nd 5-0 Daventry

Two goals to Lilla Gane and Evie Scutt and one to player of the match  Emma Sleeman saw Rugby come out on top in a frustrating game.

REWHC Men’s 1st 2-2 Stratford

A disappointing draw saw Stratford score a late tying goal after Tom Robson scored his first of the year and Luke Armstrong slotted home a drag flick. Man of the match went to Sam Beivn.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 1-5 Old Halesonians

Liam Brown scored the lone goal in the second half as Rugby tried to recover from a poor start. Man of the match went to James Robinson for a great performance in midfield.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 1-15 Atherstone 1st

A depleted 3rd team travelled to league leaders Atherstone in a difficult game. Alex Salter scored the lone marker for Rugby and Kiran Clark earned man of the match for his work rate throughout.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 2-0 REWHC Men’s 5th

Goals to David Manning and Zack Wenham saw the 4s ahead of the 5s in what was a very hotly contested game. Man of the match went to Jez Murphy in defence for the 4s.

 

Girls U16s 5-2 Old Silhillians

Four goals to Jess Naylor and one to Anna marked a strong performance for Rugby to keep them in the top spot for the league.
