RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club Ladies’ teams enjoyed a perfect week, winning all four of their matches without conceding.

 

The Ladies first team beat Lichfield 2-0 before the second team thumped Coventry and North Warwick 7-0 in a resounding victory.

 




And the Ladies third team secured an emphatic 5-0 win against Earls Barton with the fourth team beating Oundle 3-0 to complete a perfect weekend.

 


The Men’s teams endured a difficult weekend, winning just one of their eight fixtures as Rugby’s seventh side beat Ashby 4-2.

 

However, the first team were narrowly beaten 3-2 by West Bridgford with the second team hammered 4-1 by Stone.

 

And the third team were also beaten after being edged out 3-2 by Warwick whilst the fourth team lost 3-1 against Hampton.

 

Rugby’s Men’s fifth team suffered a 3-0 defeat to Atherstone before the sixth team drew 1-1 with Khalsa Leamington.

 

Lastly, the seventh team lost 4-0 against Northampton Saints before avenging their defeat with victory over Ashby the following day.

 

RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 2-0 Lichfield

Two goals to Nicki Siarbawa saw Rugby keep ahead of Lichfield in a tight game as Katie Woolliscroft earned player of the match.

 

REWHC Ladies 2nd 7-0 Coventry & North Warwick 1st

A slew of goals to Rugby, including four to player of the match Ffion Purvis, two to Katy Roffe and one to Lil Gane finished off a convincing win for Rugby.

 

REWHC Ladies 3rd 5-0 Earls Barton 1st

A hat-trick for Laura Gilmore as well as two goals to Nadine Bell sealed the match for Rugby as they controlled the game throughout.

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 3-0 Oundle 2nd

A reverse stick tally for Michelle Godfrey as well as goals to Jess and Jemima Teeton completed a sweep of wins for the REWHC Ladies section this weekend.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 2-3 West Bridgford 1st

After going down early Rugby were unable to complete the comeback despite goals from Oli Thomas and Luke Armstrong. Tom Robson earned man of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 1-4 Stone

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 2-3 Warwick 2nd

An early goal to Mat Nobes saw Rugby go ahead early but were unable to maintain the lead. Ryan Hibberd scored late but the comeback wasn’t on for Rugby. Ethan Mannion’s work in the midfield earned him man of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 4th 1-3 Hampton 3rd

David Odwell scored the lone marker for Rugby in a losing effort whilst Madoc Williams earned man of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 0-3 Atherstone 3rd

Charlie H earned man of the match in a losing effort away in Atherstone.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 1-1 Khalsa Leamington 5th

A goal to Jared Fox from a penalty corner helped secure Rugby a point as they took a draw away at Khalsa. Samay Patel earned man of the match.
