RESULTS - Rugby and East Warwickshire Hockey Club

RUGBY and East Warwickshire Hockey Club Ladies’ teams enjoyed a perfect week whilst the Men’s were only able to win one of their five fixtures.

The Ladies first team thrashed Northampton Saints 4-0 with the second team beating Loughborough 3-1 and the third team securing a 4-0 success against Long Buckby.

However, the Men’s first team played out a 4-4 thriller with Barton with the second team held to a 2-2 draw with Finchfield.

And the third team were hammered 5-0 by Nottingham University with the fourth team held 1-1 by Khalsa Leamington and the sixth team edging out Nuneaton 2-1.




Additionally, B12 are Warwickshire champions and have qualified for the Midlands Finals where they will aim to secure a place in the National Finals.

And G12 are Warwickshire runners up and have qualified for the Midlands competition.


 

RESULTS

REWHC Ladies 1st 4-0 Northampton Saints

Goals to Jess Naylor, Evie Phillips and two for Nicki Siawbawa saw Rugby comfortably ahead of Northampton whilst Le Sarge’s efforts to preserve the clean sheet earned her player of the match.

 

REWHC Ladies 2nd 3-1 Loughborough Uni

A great start to Rugby saw goals to Jodie Kelsall, Katy R and Evie Headland as Rugby held onto their first half lead. Grace Calder earned player of the match.

 

REWHC Ladies 4th 4-0 Long Buckby 2nd

Two goals apiece to Viki Bartlett and Annie saw Rugby stay ahead in a physical game at Long Buckby. Zoe was voted player of the match for a great all round performance.

 

REWHC Men’s 1st 4-4 Barton

Goals to Chris Graham, Tom Robson, Andy Walker as well as a late equaliser for man of the match Oli Thomas saw Rugby take a draw against second in the league Barton.

 

REWHC Men’s 2nd 2-2 Finchfield 1st

A tightly contested game saw goals to Charlie Darbyshire and Mike White to secure the draw whilst Connor Robson won man of the match for his efforts in goal.

 

REWHC Men’s 3rd 0-5 Nottingham University 4th

An early start for Rugby saw them fight hard against a strong Nottingham side but could not find the net as the students piled on the pressure. Debutant Charlie Hall was named man of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 5th 1-1 Khalsa Leamington 4th

An early penalty flick from Nick Harding saw Rugby take the lead but Leamington came back to bring the game level. Finn Newton earned himself man of the match.

 

REWHC Men’s 6th 2-1 Nuneaton 2nd

Goals to debutant Krish and a clean finish from Chris H saw Rugby ahead of a physical Nuneaton side.

 

REWHC O50s 1-3 Chelmsford
