THE Rugby Friday Night Charity Darts League made its eagerly anticipated return after three years away due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Only two games were played in Divison A due to two postponements as Norma’s Crew and Crow Pie and A Pint made winning starts whilst raising £38 for charity.
Norma’s Crew made a fast start only for opponents Shaz’s New Crew to win seven of the next nine available points to take a 7-5 lead.
However, Norma’s Crew wrestled back control to lead 8-7 and won five of the six final points to clinch a 13-8 victory.
The other fixture saw Crow Pie and A Pint and It’s A Family Affair share the points in each of the first four games before the former team ran away with the contest.
Comfortable three-nil wins in matches five and six helped Crow Pie and A Pint win by a 13-8 scoreline as It’s A Family Affair took the final doubles game.
In Division B, there were also two matches as Worker’s Wombles moved top of the table with a 15-6 victory over Worker’s C.
Worker’s Wombles led 7-5 in a close opening to the fixture, however, Worker’s C were only able to register one more point in the remaining three matches.
The other fixture saw Royal Oak beat The Webb 13-8 as they took control of the game with back-to-back three-nil wins in matches three and four.
However, The Webb responded to win the next match three-nil to leave the tie in the balance before Royal Oak won four of the next six points to seal overall victory.
