RUGBY Borough moved level on points with Leicestershire Premier Division league leaders Thurnby Rangers with an emphatic 7-1 victory over Ellistown.
Borough took the lead in the 22nd minute when Ollie Chater curled home from the edge of the area.
Six minutes later Josh Turton made it 2-0 before Sam Beasley added the third just after half-hour mark.
Moments into the second period a Jamie Paye penalty took the score to 4-0 before Paye bagged his second and Borough’s fifth with 21 minutes remaining.
Ellistown bagged a consolation in the 77th minute but it was Borough who had the last say, with Luke Pritchard scoring twice in the final ten minutes to add the gloss to a dominant display.
Borough play host to Blaby & Whetstone on Saturday before entertaining Coventry Plumbing in the quarter-finals of the Coventry Charity Cup on Monday night.
