RUGBY moved up to seventh in the Warwickshire Premier League after picking up 17 points at home to Highway Spartans on Saturday.
After winning the toss, the visitors decided to bat first and they set their opponents a target of 225 for 8 from 50 overs.
The star man with the bat for the Spartans was Ari Doak-Smith who top scored with 65 and he was well supported by Matt McCarthy (48) and Lester Gibson (35).
Lee Golding led the way for Rugby by picking up four wickets and conceding just 32 runs from his 12 overs, while fellow bowler Thomas Wilkins claimed a brace of wickets.
Rugby made easy work of their reply with opener Rishi Tank top-scoring with 61 and fellow opener Asaad Qureshi (30) and Owen Edwards helped the home side reach 220 for 6 from 46 overs before rain ended play.
