RUGBY & Northampton’s athletes put in a strong showing in the latest round of the Three Counties XC League.
Of 15 representatives from Rugby & Northampton Athletic Club, Dave Ball came in with the fastest time for the team and managed to place 16th, whilst Joe Musgrove followed shortly after in 30th, as the fastest runner in the M17-19 category.
The pair of Vince Carroll and Simon Bickers finished in succession with 34th and 35th places respectively, meanwhile in the 50-54 category, Brendan Moen achieved a 49th place.
Adam Bebbington was second fastest in the M17-19 category in 55th, and Oliver Harvey (20-24) completed the top 100 places for Rugby & Northampton in 79th.
Elsewhere for the men’s team, Alex McCurtie placed 166th, John Saw 168th and Adrian Reast 215th.
From the perspective of the women’s team, it was also a promising performance from the five female entrants for R&N, with Angela Copson crossing the line as the 34th fastest woman and 189th overall.
Catherine Williams from the F55-59 category came in 201st place; with Trudi Mawby (255th), Emma Burrows (311th) and Kirsty Lewnes (336th) completing the pack to round-off a solid evening.
Overall, the team finished eighth in the rankings, the men’s team finishing fifth overall and maintaining fifth place in the overall standings after three races.
