RUGBY pair Kevin Rumble and Iris Bingham were back in action at the NCF 25m National Championships in Gloucester and both came away with gold medals.
The Rugby Sport for the Disabled members returned from the event with World and European records after another impressive display with the crossbow.
Kevin shoots with a sporting bows which have a scope on top, while Iris uses a target bow, which has an open front and rear sights with no magnification.
A score of 572 out of 600 was enough for Kevin to take first place for the makes, while Iris shot an impressive 594 to win the women’s event.
There was alsi success for Graeme Mooney for took second spot in the mens with a score of 549.
It was the only 25metre event organised by the National Crossbow Federation of Great Britain.
Speaking afterwards, Graeme said: “There is nowhere we can practice this distance and the 40cm 3 spot target was so difficult at this distance and I prefer 18m.
“It was difficult and I really had to concentrate but at least my bow did not go wrong.”
