Rugby Town Under-18s on course for a hugely successful season

RUGBY Town’s JFC under-18s are celebrating a hugely successful 2015/16 season after winning the Eastern Division of the Midweek Floodlit League and the Midland Junior Premier League.

The team, which is run in partnership with the Strachan Football Foundation, are also finalists in the Birmingham County Midweek Youth Cup where they play Lye Town at Hendesford FC on Monday April 18 (7.45pm kick off).

Prolific scorers Sam Lockey and Jordan Ponticilli have scored no fewer than 80 goals between them and both have been pivotal in the team’s success.

Credit must also go to their team mates who make these scoring opportunities for them. The success has led to Premier League clubs Stoke City and Aston Villa being regular visitors to watch the games.
