Rugby Town youth team win Eastern Division Floodlit League title

IT WAS celebrations all round for Rugby Town JFC’s Youth side after they were crowned champions of the Eastern Division Floodlit League.

The team, which is run in partnership with the Strachan Football Foundation, claimed the title after a 2-0 win over Bedworth Utd last Wednesday.

It capped of a very successful for the club after they also reached the semi-final of the League cup but lost out to a very good Oadby Town side, while they lost out again in the Birmingham County FA Youth Cup final at Hendesford, losing 1-0 to Lye Town.

The team are now preparing for life in the Premier Division next season which will bring with it new challenges ahead.




Manager Dan Elliott said: “The players are still very young and this team has another year together.

“This group of talented players have only been together 12 months and have exceeded our expectations for this season. This group will get stronger and we will be looking to challenge for all the honours next season.”
