PRINCETHORPE rider Sarah Stretton finished 50th overall at the 2015 Badminton Horse Trials held from May 6-10.

The 28-year-old, who was riding on Skip On, scored 69 in the dressage and 54 in the cross country before jumping eight in the show jump to claim 50th overall.

Stretton is based and trains in Princethorpe and made her star debut at Burghley in 2009. She has twice competed at Badminton and was eliminated at the cross country stage last year.

She began competing as a member of school and Pony Club teams and represented North Warwickshire Pony Club at the Championships in all three disciplines on three different horses.

After school Sarah completed a National Diploma in Horse Management at Moreton Morrell College where she began competing in BE affiliated events.

After college she moved to her aunt, Naomi Franklyn’s ‘Lazy Acres’ livery yard to produce young horses.

In 2008 Sarah was a member British Young Rider squad competing at the European Championships in Kreuth where she was 20th with Skip On.

The following year the pair finished third in the Under-25 Championship, picked up the ‘Best U25’ award at the Open Championships at Gatcombe, and completed their first four, star at Burghley (37th).

In 2011 she completed her first Badminton on Skip On with a ‘double clear’.
