FOOTBALL: LUTTERWORTH Town cruised into the first round proper of the FA Vase following an emphatic 7-0 win over Teversal FC.

Following a week of mixed results, the Swifts faced the Nottinghamshire side at home and were looking to right the wrong of last week’s home defeat.

Lutterworth made a bright a bright start in a competitive matchup, moving the ball well from defence into midfield and the Swifts looked dangerous on both flanks.

Following intense pressure, Mark Warren’s corner kick was met by the head of Tendai Daire – whose header handed the Swifts the lead on 22 minutes.

Though Teversal started to show glimmers of good interplay in Lutterworth’s half, it would be the Swifts that scored again on half time when Daire score his – and Town’s – second.

The second half started as the first ended.

Four minutes in, Daire completed his hat-trick following a neat assist from Callum Riley.

Lutterworth scored their fourth goal ten minutes later when Riley and Daire combined again as the latter notched his fourth goal.

Daire added a fifth with a penalty after he was brought down in the box while Rhys Roberts added Swifts’ sixth.

Louis Samuels then scored the goal of the game on 70 minutes when a series of nimble flicks, tricks, and back heels carved open the Teversal defence.

Samuels calmly slotted home Swifts’ seventh of the game to round of an easy fixture for the home side.

Swifts face Ingles away in a mid-week cup match then travel to Blackstones in the league.
