YOUNG players are being invited to join one of the fastest growing football education programmes in the country as the Strachan Football Foundation (SFF) launches its Under-16 pre-academy development squad.
In partnership with Rugby Town Junior Football Club, the programme will allow youngsters to play for SFF in the Midland Junior Premier League on Saturday mornings, while also getting tips from UEFA Pro, A and B Licence coaches.
It will also give players an insight into the SFF full-time education programme which they will be allowed to apply for when they leave school in 2017.
The development squad will also provide players with access to half-term training camps, links to Premier League and Football League clubs for trials, discounted training kit and a chance to play professional clubs during school holidays.
“This is a great opportunity for lads to be involved in our programme giving them the opportunity to gain valuable experience of what it is like within a Strachan Football Foundation team,” said SFFF coach Chay Thompson.
“For lads wanting to come onto the Full Time Education Programme in 2017, being part of the pre-academy would be very beneficial to their development and will help them be prepared for full-time football in 2017.”
SFF has a growing repuation in the sport having provided five players with trials at over ten professional clubs from the Premier League to League One.
Trials for the pre-academy development squad are set to take place on July 30. Anyone interested in attending should email firstname.lastname@example.org.
