FOOTBALL: SKY Blues forward George Thomas has been called up for international duty this summer for the Welsh Under 21 squad.
Thomas, who bagged one of Coventry’s two goals at Wembley earlier this year in the Checkatrade Trophy Final, has been called up for international duty following an impressive year with the Sky Blues – which saw him score nine goals in 36 appearances.
He has been included in the Welsh Under 21 squad that will play in Toulon for a summer tournament, starting on Tuesday (May 30) against France.
The squad will meet up ahead of the tournament on May 24.
It is the first time Wales have been invited to the famous Toulon Tournament, with this year’s competition the first to feature 12 teams.
Wales will be managed by former Sky Blues defender Robert Page.
Wales U21s will play France, Bahrain, and Ivory Coast before the semi-finals take place on June 8.
The final takes place on June 10.
