FOOTBALL: LUTTERWORTH Town bounced back from a frustrating 0-3 loss against Irchester United to defeat Long Buckby 9-1.

It didn’t long for Swifts to stamp their authority on the game when Marshal Keenan found space on the left to square to ball to Tendai Daire, who made it 1-0 to the home side within two minutes.

Hungry Lutterworth pressed on and were soon two ahead after Keenan went round the keeper to score an easy tap in.

Keenan was again on hand ten minutes later when a replica of the first goal was created as Daire bagged his second of the game.

It got worse for a dejected Long Buckby when Keenan again setup Daire who hit home his hat-trick to make it 4-0 with 30 minutes played.

Daire then scored his fourth and Town’s fifth when a perfectly delivered Rhys Roberts corner was powerfully headed home.

Seconds later Long Buckby struck back with a goal out of nothing.

Good play from the frontman saw him strike from just outside the box and beat keeper Kristian Bee to his right hand side making the score 5-1.

Though there was only ten minutes left in the goalfest half, Swifts found time to add two more.

Daire made it six before Roberts joined in on the action with a neat one-two on the edge of the box.

Lutterworth made it eight not long after the break when Shaun Leslie’s searching pass found space for Daire to run into.

Strength and speed allowed Daire to smash home another, making it 8-1.

The game then seemed to slow down to a crawl with Town creating some decent chances in order to extend their lead, but they had to wait until the 82nd minute to score their ninth.

The substitutes combined with Joe Herbert’s defence splitting pass allowing Billy Clarke to race in front of the defender and make it 9-1.

Swifts are next in action against Harrowby United on Saturday, December 16.

Swifts: Kristian Bee, Shaun Leslie, Justin Peace, Shaquille O’Neal Brooks, Louis Samuels, Mark Warren, Liam Taylor, Rhys Roberts, Marshal Keenan, James Parker, Tendai Daire (motm)(C). Subs: Billy Clarke, Joe Herbert, Jordan Small, Callum Riley.
