Tom Cossar lands British qualifier success in Pickering

SIDECAR SPEEDWAY: THE Cossar family was back on the top step of the podium at the weekend, but this time in the shape of Tom – Mark’s brother.

A former passenger to Mark, Tom was crowned champion of the British Masters Grasstrack qualifier in Pickering, North Yorkshire.

The 24-year-old earlier in his career became the youngest winner of the prestigious British Masters when aged just 17.

And he showed he’s not allowing previous injury concerns to get the better of him following his latest triumph.

Tom and his passenger – Wayne Rickards – took the chequered flag in the final at the second time of asking following a fall for one of his opponents in the first attempt to run the race.

Trailing when the action stopped, Cossar made no mistake in the re-run to capture the win.

He said: “It’s great to get this first meeting win under my belt.

“I felt fast all day and have confidence in the engine.

“Hopefully there’s more to come.”
