RUGBY Junior Triathlon Club’s Tom Tyler continues to build momentum after an impressive run out at the Hetton Lyons Super Saturday Triathlon.
In the event, which is part of the British Triathlon Youth and Super Series, the 15-year-old raced twice on the course, which consisted of a 300m swim, 10.8km bike ride and 1.8km run.
Racing in often temperamental weather, Tyler raced to a 17th-place finish in the opening heat, finishing in a time of 23:17, before finishing fourth in the B final in 23:29.
Overall, he finished 28th out of 60 competitors overall, and followed up that feat by competing in a relay where his team placed ninth.
Elsewhere, George and Aaron Morris represented the club at the Ashby Triathlon.
Taking on the 100m swim, 3km cycle and 1km run, George Morris (15:48) placed tenth in the 10-11 years category, while Aaron Morris (20:13) finished 13th in the 8-9 years event.
At the Henley-on-Thames Kids Fun Triathlon, the club were represented by 11 of its members, with Ruby Daly and Phoebe Sanders impressing with times of 12:04 and 12:43 respectively in the 6-9 years category (25m swim, 1km cycle, 500m run).
In the 8-11 years event (50m swim, 2km cycle, 1km run), Layla Rose (16:51) was the fastest triathlete, with Finley Heywood (18:01), Jacob Hayward (18:53), Niamh Daly (18:55) and Nate Tilt (22:45) following suit.
Edith Heywood (25:43) raced to an impressive time in the 10-13 years category (75m swim, 1.5km cycle, 1.5km run), while Emily Hayward (25:50) and Scarlett Sanders (37:22) completed the 12-15 years equivalent (100m, 4km cycle, 2km run).
The final participant in the Fun Triathlon was Hannah Tilt (31:00), who took on the challenge of the 150m swim, 4km bike ride and 2.5km run in the 13-16 years category.
