United in capable hands under the management of Anderson and Co. - says chairman

Rugby Editorial 15th Feb, 2021   0

COVENTRY United chairman Joe Haggarty has sung the praises of manager Terry Anderson, and says the Red and Greens will be ready for a return to action whenever called upon.

The Midland League Premier Division outfit, who play their games at Butts Park Arena, have not played since an FA Vase third-round exit to Congleton Town before Christmas and appear unlikely to be back in competitive action until March at the earliest – owing to current national lockdown restrictions and league-wide guidelines.

While action on the pitch remains hard to come by, Haggarty has given a glowing testament of the man at the helm of Coventry’s current crop, and says the club are in safe hands with Anderson and his backroom team.

“One of the most impressive things that I have found from knowing Terry is his eye for a signing,” said the United chairman.

“His recruitment during his time with the club has been astounding. It is safe to say that we would not be in the strong position we find ourselves in without him.

“I hope his leadership will continue to lead United to bigger and better things in the long-term, I may be biased on this, but I fully believe he is the best manager at this level – I wouldn’t wish for a better man to oversee this project than Terry.”

And though the outcome of the 2020/21 season appears glum, with another null and void conclusion expected in the coming weeks, preparations for the next campaign are at least being put in place by the club.

“While the gaffer has been scouting for future Red and Green favourites, our squad have not been letting the dust settle,” Haggarty continued.

“There may be no competitive action to prepare for, but the lads are staying fighting fit and are ready to go if and when we get the go ahead to return to the pitch.”
