Valley boss James Jepson signs trio ahead of new season

NEW Rugby Town boss James Jepson has agreed deals with three further players to be part of his 2016/17 squad.

Following last week’s announcement of six new arrivals in addition to the confirmation of the extension of striker David Kolodynski’s contract at the club, Jepson has confirmed this week that Aron Wint, Louis Hamilton and Jorna Moulton have all agreed deals to move to Butlin Road.

Striker Wint had previously featured for Valley on a trial basis ahead of last season’s campaign. The 23-year-old failed to impress then manager Gary Mills and went on to feature more than 30 times for Southern League Premier side Bedworth.

Hamilton, 25, has played for a number of non-league clubs and the winger has more recently turned out for Kettering, Barwell, Loughborough, Stamford and Gresley.

Jepson has played alongside both Wint and Hamilton in his career while third acquisition Morna, 19, joins from Tamworth having been released by the Derby County Academy a year ago.

Rugby has also announced their provisional pre-season schedule, with training due to start on June 25.

First up for Jepson’s new-look Valley side will be two away friendlies at lower level opposition Cogenhoe and Quorn on Tuesday July 12 and Saturday July 16 before they host a Coventry City XI on Tuesday July 19.

Shepshed Dynamo are due to play on the Butlin Road astroturf on July 23 with another fixture on an artificial surface three days later,  this time at NPL Premier Sutton Coldfield.

Further home warm-up games on the main pitch are pencilled in for August against Kettering and Grantham on August 2 and August 6th respectively, with the club also looking to fill the currently blank July 30 slot with another home match.
